Stop Drinking Now, by Allen Carr

Naturally, the first SOSource I’m posting is the resource that helped me change my mind completely. In my “How I became Sober,” I mention that I was shocked and still am shocked that it ultimately came down to a book to solidify the decision for me. I will admit, although the book played a crucial role, it was something that would not have worked for me if I wasn’t in the right mindset to absorb what the book had to offer. Stop Drinking Now takes an approach that is different from a lot of programs that are out there, at least from what I’ve seen. The approach taken is one that considers the person who is reading the book to be someone who really wants to stop drinking. I believe that there is a lot of power in this approach. Having a physical book was something that was very useful in holding myself accountable. The process of being recommended a book, then actually going to a physical mall to purchase it to take home and read holds a lot of motivation in itself. The book also comes with a hypnotherapy CD, which helped me a lot as well. I listened to the 30 minute clip every morning and every night for about 7-10 days and I’ve never looked back since.

Who do I recommend it for?

Anyone who is truly ready to give up drinking but is having a few doubts.

Where can it be purchased?

Personally, I purchased mine at Indigo. It is also easy to find online. However, in my opinion, there is a motivational force at work when you actually physically travel to a store and buy the book. That’s my personal opinion, anyway.
